The Messianic Messenger (Mark 1:1-8)

Series: The Incredible Jesus: A Study Through Mark's Gospel

We might sometimes catch ourselves thinking that each of the Gospel accounts where written for the expressed purpose of being included in a book that we know as the Bible, but the reality is that each Gospel account was written individually as an effort to simply persuade the readers that Jesus of Nazareth was more than just a man. John Mark's Gospel begins with that claim of Jesus's Messiahship, and then Mark spends the rest of this account seeking to prove that Jesus is who he claims for Him to be. This is the first lesson in a series of lessons that will work through Mark's Gospel. This lesson will conclude some introductory information, and then the focus will shift to the Messianic Messenger who is introduced in Mark 1:1-8. May we all be impressed by the incredible nature of Jesus as we visualize His ministry through the pen strokes of John Mark.
