The Unmerciful Slave

While there are some parables of Jesus that might seem difficult to accurately grasp the lesson He wants us to take away, there are others that are pretty plain and quite simple to understand. One such parable that seems pretty straight forward is the parable of the unmerciful slave from Matthew 18:23-35. It doesn't take much guesswork for us to figure out Jesus's points with this parable, but we gain so much more when we consider the verses leading up to the parable because they truly set the stage for what Jesus shares. This lesson looks at this powerful parable and the equally powerful context that leads to an even greater meaning and emphasis within these words of Jesus.
