Adjusting Our Sails

Some might think that the lives of followers of Jesus are full of bliss to the point of enduring little to no difficulties, but it only takes an examination of Paul's life to realize this simply isn't the case. In fact, Paul's life is very turbulent at times as the storms and winds of life continued to oppose him. What we learn from Paul's life is that we might not be able to control the winds, but we can control our response in order to get where we're trying to go. Those thoughts were found in the Bible of a young disciple of Christ who was killed in the tornado that took 24 lives across middle Tennessee earlier this year. Those thoughts helped get many people through the grief of his loss, and those words can and should continue to help us as we face all of life's stormy winds.
