Priorities. The word itself is problematic because it gives the idea that we can have mulitple priorities in our lives. To have multiple priorities would be a self-defeating proposition. For this reason, we ought to consider that Jesus alone should be our priority, and we move on from that fact by recognizing that our focus on Jesus influences everything else that we do in life. There are few New Testament letters that emphasize these thoughts better than the Letter to the Colossians, and this lesson traces these thoughts throught this short letter of the Apostle Paul. It considers why Jesus should be first place in everything in our lives, and then it paints a picture for what that will look like in the life of disciples of Jesus.
